Paige Moore

Paige Moore of Clarkson is a recipient of our 2019 Rae of Hope Character scholarship of $1000. Paige plans on attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney this fall. She was nominated by her school counselor Jennifer Kappel. Congratulations to Paige from all of us at McKenna's Rae of Hope Foundation. Thank you for being a Rae of Hope for those around you.

Here are a few of the things that Jennifer Kappel wrote in her nomination letter:

Paige has a lengthy resume of meaningful accomplishments she has earned but demonstrating strong character and perseverance is a tremendous accomplishment. It amazes me that through all of the difficulties she has experienced, Paige has overcome and shown amazing character. Paige has made a positive impact on the youth in our school and community. Paige has been involved as a mentor in a project called Patriot Pals in our school for the past three years. Paige was partnered with an elementary student and has been able to continue to be a positive influence in her life. They have an amazing relationship and Paige has supported her in many aspects of her life. Paige is comfortable with who she is as an individual and has earned the respect of her peers, especially being a role model to underclassmen. Paige is involved in many extracurricular activities ranging from athletics to speech and National Honor Society. In all things, Paige always gives 110%. Most recently she presented to Junior High students her competition speech and encouraged them to consider going out for speech when they started high school. Paige is also a wonderful advocate for special education students. Her sister, Kelsey, has Down syndrome and is a year younger. Paige is Kelsey's strongest fan and Kelsey is Paige's greatest supporter. They have a wonderful sibling relationship and this has shaped and guided Paige towards a career teaching special education. Paige has also been involved in a summer camp where she acts as a camp counselor working with students with special needs. Paige is also an aide for our elementary special education teacher. She has been paired with students that have a variety of disabilities and helps them with behaviors, learning, and social-emotional issues. She may go to PE, music, or stay in the room with the class during Guidance lessons and support the entire group or provide one on one support for identified students. Paige thrives on these experiences in which she is able to help others and make a difference in someone's life. I believe Paige is an excellent candidate for this scholarship opportunity.
